Our activities each month include a general meeting with an
engaging cultural program, a large, tasty lunch and time for visiting and
We also have a monthly games &cards social, a book club
focused on Scandinavian literature, Norwegian language classes, Rosemaling
classes, luncheons and dine-outs.
For the kids, our members participate in Barnelop
(cross-country kids’ race), Syttende Mai (Norway’s main national holiday with
children’s parade, music and hot dogs), a summer picnic, and Julebord with
At Fjellheim, we take every opportunity to have to a good
time. Our 40th Anniversary
Party was a gala event with a sit-down dinner, dancing to accordions and comedy
by Ole and Paul (we don’t have a Sven).
In October, we are caravanning to Minot to the Norsk Hostfest. We meet about ten times a year to make lefse - 250 pieces each time. We read poetry
by Ibsen. We watch Viking actors. We go to a Skysox game as a group.
We study Norsk history. We work a booth at
the Scandinavian Festival in Estes Park.
In short, we do a lot of things Norwegian. We would love to have you join us.
