As a Sons of Norway member you will have the opportunity to participate in monthly social functions, picnics and potlucks, Viking Sisters luncheons, Norwegian language classes and cultural programs, Lutefisk, meatball dinners including our annual Frokost ( a Norwegian style breakfast). These are only a few of the many events provided to you as a Sons of Norway member. For current cultural events see our calendar of events. The purpose of the Fjellheim Lodge is to preserve and promote the Norwegian heritage of your family and our- while having some fun doing it!
The Fjellheim Lodge of the Sons of Norway is concerned about the well being of its members. We see our members as part of a larger family. You might be surprised to find people who lived in or might have family in the same region your relatives migrated to and raised their families. Members strive to be a positive force in our community through volunteer work, cultural programs, and financial gifts to charitable and cultural organizations.
As a Sons of Norway member you will receive our monthly newsletter the Flammen. from the Sons of Norway International you will receive the informational magazine the Viking. The Viking magazine provides feature articles and news of our activities in the U.S., Canada, and Norway. When you pay the first of your annual dues you will also receive a welcome packet. Included with information about Sons of Norway is a hand-held Norwegian flag and a lapel pin you can wear to proudly display your affiliation and heritage.
If you would be interest in joining our lodge and sharing in all the wonderful heritage programs than contact us and we will send to you a new membership package. This package details all the information you will need to become a Sons of Norway member.
Annual dues are currently $49.50 for the first member and $44.00 for a joining spouse. sons of Norway enables youth between the ages of 16-23 who reside with a dues-paying adult to be a member without paying individual dues. A separate application form must be completed for each person.
Heritage membership is FREE for children or grandchildren up to the age of 15. Heritage members receive a quarterly newsletter filled with lots of jun activities and information on Norway past and present! Contact us for a Heritage Membership application card.
